As the day of the week that is neither here nor there, Wednesdays are not usually this exciting. But there is no such thing as the midweek blues here at Okemo. Today is practically a holiday at the mountain with all that is going on! We have the Ross Powers Superpipe season debut, two inches of fresh snow, and $39 lift tickets for all VT/NH residents because it is Wonderful Wednesday! Those of you who live in Okemo’s backyard can have first tracks this morning on 96 trails stretching from the South Face to Jackson Gore, and all quickly serviced by 14 lifts, including five high-speed quads. That’s over 36 miles of terrain comprising everything from groomed cruisers to moguls to 18 foot pipe walls for you to carve up with your friends, family, or favorite playlist this Wednesday. The snow is falling steadily right now and is expected to continue coming down through the night tonight. Although today’s temps will remain in the upper 20s, there is a chance of some mixed precipitation due to warmer upper-atmosphere air. But this is New England, and our fingers are permanently crossed when it comes to weather.
In addition to all the on-hill activities, we have ice skating at the Ice House and terrific cross-country and snow shoeing conditions at the Nordic Center. Snow tubing has been cancelled tonight due to weather. The Spring House is open daily, so there is no excuse for slacking off on your New Year's resolution! But, with pools, a sauna, spa, racquetball, and studio classes, making good on your resolution doesn't have to be a chore.
If you are from out of state, then you don’t have to disguise your accent; we have plenty of Online Only Offers and Steals and Deals on lift tickets for you as well. Purchasing your passes online can earn you savings like two days of skiing or riding for only $99, or get your child a free pass with our Kids Rock FREE ticket offer! Check out all our great deals, because there is something for everyone.
Also keep in mind when you’re planning your trip up that Okemo’s Ski and Stay lodging packages provide economical ways to turn your day trip into a vacation. There is nothing quite like skiing or riding out your front door and onto the slopes, and we want to put you right in the action this winter. Plus, when you book your stay through Okemo, you receive the Spring House Advantage – free access to the Spring House Fitness and Aquatic Center. Trust me, you’re going to appreciate having that sauna and hot tub there waiting for you when you get off the slopes.
With all the lift ticket and lodging savings we’re offering this winter, your piggy bank should be getting pretty fat. So, crack that puppy open and treat yourself to some new equipment this season! Our Snowsports Shop is open daily in the Okemo Clocktower Base Lodge, and has all the latest gear for you to demo. Just mention this snow report, and you will receive half off the demo price on a new set of sticks. Give them a ring to make sure they have your dream skis ready to ride at (802) 228-1548.
It’s snowing and it’s time to get going! Come out and join us today for some classic New England skiing and riding, plus some cutting-edge halfpipe action. There’s a lot of ground to cover out there – 525 acres of it!
Have fun, be safe, and I will see you out on the mountain!
